The main locations of the film are the cellar and outside the house as they are of extreme significance.

COSTUME

The costume indicates its a movie set in the present. Although it indicate very clearly the genre and major theme, all the actors wear dark colour and Ester even wears red, which can hint that it is a horror film.

HAIR AND MAKE-UP

The hair and make-up of the main character is natural. This can contrast with the genre as it doesn't indicate any signs of horror.

PROPS

Information is passed to the audience through the use of props in the film. Numerous props are used in 'Don't Blink'.

BLOCKING

The positioning within the frame in some in the openning shots gives significance to the secondary character Ester as she is in the center. 

LIGHTING

Lighting in 'Don't Blink' tells the audience where to llok and creates a visual mood and furthermore meaning.
