Lyric Analysis
The title means a lot as it is the main focus of the song. It's a song about how time never stops. The 'home' refers to what they have constructed together as a couple, representing the future that they have planned with each other.
The referece to the 'tree' is extremely significant as it symmbolises the couple's relationship.
Sad ending with melancholic tone.

'home' refers to a place where you can feel safe and secure.
Slant rhymes between seeds and kness and green and me.
Original videoclip:
'To Build a Home' videoclip originally talks about a couple. In it, an elderly man carries his ill wife to their house to take care of her and love her before she passes away. While she looks through the photographs of her family, he makes her a hot tea, to which he adds a substance of crushed pills to mix in the cup. We can later on see how they are kissing before their final goodbye, ending with the man's realization she is gone forever.
The song's lyrics emphasize quite the narrative plot of the videoclip. There is a nice little house built of stone. Even though it is old, it seems like it's been their home for a long time and years have passed since they lived there before moving. The singer goes on to say that it is a house where he feels like home. Some time ago, he built this house so that the two of them could live in it and raise their children. The song often refers to a tree which is as old as the main character himself. It symbolises their relationship. The lyrics explain how he took advantage of cracks in the bark to climb the tree. After a while, looking at the earth and the surrounding hills, a gust of wind came and tried to knock him down. He hugged a tree branch as tightly as the woman hugged him. Together with his wife, they rolled in the dust in this tiny house and it was time to discontinue their lives.
My videoclip:
The videoclip I have created for this song does, to some extent, relate to songs lyrics. Instead of talking about an elderly couple, it describes the relationship between two young teenagers. In it there are many moments in which they have been happy, but also the sad ones. 'And know, it's time to leave And time to die' talks about how their relationship has come to an end and both have taken separate paths in life.
