Digipak
What is a digipak?
Digipak cases are a proprietary packaging format for both CD and DVD discs. The peculiarity of the Digipak is that it is a case and therefore a folder. Its cover opens like a book (drops down) and can have multiple blades or faces.

It was created around the 2000s. Digipaks are autonomous and offer more protection for discs than traditional CD jewel cases. It can be customized with graphics on the inside and outside, making it more visually appealing than traditional cases that only come with paper inserts and booklets.

First of all we have to consider the text needed in a digipak. It is extremely important to have the name of the band or artist on the front album cover.

Track listing

Website

Blog

Credits (record producer, song writers, musician and their thanks, when and where it was recorded and the name of the record company).
PICTORIAL
It is extremely necessary to include a picture of the band, in fact, it is a key element of a digipak.
It is also crucial for it to contain:

The logo of the band
-
barcode
-
Record label logo
-
CD logo
-
DVD logo
-
website banner
Many of these elements go at the back of the digipak.
BACK ALBUM COVER
The back album cover should contain an image related to the front cover. The barcode, website link, record label and logo as well as the track list with, together with numbers which indicate what track it is.
FRONT ALBUM COVER
The front of any digipak should have a distinctive and easy to recognise image of the band or artist. At the front album cover, the name of the album or band should be featured.
DESIGN
The design of a digipak is also a key element as it has to match the genre of the song as well as its style.
The color is also very significative, it should be able to fold and could maybe contain a lyrics booklet or even adverts.
THE EDGE
The edge of a digipak should include:

The serial number
It should include an image the same as the back cover which will be able to be easily distinguished from other digipaks.
